Hymens
The Hymen s a membrane that surrounds the opening to the vagina. They come in different shapes and sizes, but are generally shaped like a half-moon to allow blood to flow through. Historically the hymen has been used as physical proof of a woman’s virginity. Today we know that the hymen grows as a girl grows, and that sexual intercourse stretches the size of the hymen. Physical activities do not normally effect the hymen, but injuries can cause the hymen to stretch. (http://youngwomenshealth.org/2013/07/31/hymen_break/)
