Lesbians
A lesbian is a female-identified person who is emotionally, physically, and romantically attracted to another female-identified person. Lesbian women face a unique set of challenges. In a study of 390 LGBT people, one in seven people reported living in fear of homophobic violence. Lesbians have higher rates of mental he alt disorders, obesity, smoking, unsafe alcohol and drug use, and self-harm. The conditions may develop due to the coming out process, being bullied, homophobic jokes or harassment, having to hdd a part of their identity, and/ or feeling guilt or shame about their sexual identity.
