According to the American Bar Association, more girls are getting in trouble with the law and ending up in jail or detention centers. Girls under the age of 18 are the fastest growing segment of the juvenile justice population. Girls are more likely to be arrested for running away than boys, they are more likely than boys to be arrested for minor offenses, and they are more likely to be sent back to the detention after release.
